Syngenta's first-quarter sales up 2%, to $4.7 billion

Syngenta had $4.7 billion in sales during the first quarter, according to the company's latest trading statement, released today. The figure represents a 2% increase from the same quarter the year before. The company has not disclosed Ebitda or net income figures. Sales of fungicides—the second-highest revenue stream, slightly behind selective herbicides—grew 9% year-on-year (YOY), to just over $1 billion. Syngenta's new succinate dehydrogenase-inhibiting product Seguris more than doubled in sales, contributing to broad-based growth across Europe...
