Pioneer Hi-Bred Licenses Syngenta’s Pest-Control Seed Trait for Corn

DuPont’s Pioneer Hi-Bred subsidiary says it has entered into an agreement with Syngenta, under which Pioneer gains access to Syngenta’s new insect-protection trait for corn. DuPont will pay royalties to Syngenta for the nonexclusive, global license with stacking rights to the corn trait, trade named MIR162. Further financial details were not disclosed. DuPont expects to release products containing MIR162 in 2011 or 2012, depending on regulatory approval. MIR162 is currently in the regulatory review process in the U.S., and Syngenta expects it to...
