EU Fails to Overturn Bans on Monsanto GM Corn

The European Commission has failed in a bid to force France and Greece to allow the planting of Monsanto’s MON810 genetically modified (GM) corn. The European Union’s (EU) standing committee on food chain and animal health, meeting in Brussels on February 16, “failed to reach a qualified majority in favor or against” the stance of the French and Greek governments, the commission says.
