The European Union’s (EU) standing committee on food chain and animal health, meeting in Brussels on February 16, “failed to reach a qualified majority in favor or against” the stance of the French and Greek governments, the commission says. MON810 is the only GM crop approved for planting in the EU but Greece and France suspended cultivation in 2006 and 2008, respectively, invoking a safeguard...
