U.S. Chemists Develop Novel Catalyst Family

Chemists at the University of California, Riverside (Riverside, CA) have developed a new family of catalysts that could be applied to a broad range of applications including the production of pharmaceutical, fine chemicals and other materials. In a research paper reported in the July 29 edition of the journal Science the catalysts have been shown to transform a family of acid compounds into bases.
