U.K. Pseudoephedrine Curb?

U.K. government agency the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has proposed a reclassification of medicines containing pseudoephedrine and ephedrine as prescription-only drugs. The substances are often used in over-the-counter cold and flu treatments. The reclassification could hurt manufacturers of pseudoephedrine and ephedrine, because pharmaceutical companies may respond to the changes by formulating new medicines that omit the two products.
