SAFC Partners with Pfenex to Codevelop Biopharmaceuticals (update)

Pfenex (San Diego), a pioneer in protein expression systems, has entered into a non-exclusive partnership with Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemicals (SAFC) for the manufacture of therapeutic recombinant proteins. Under the agreement, Pfenex will engineer production strains and processes for SAFC’s contract manufacturing customers. Additionally, the companies plan to work together to introduce conjugate vaccines.
