Pharma Demand Will Drive World Market

Rapidly growing demand for pharmaceutical enzymes will drive growth in the global enzymes market, causing it to expand by almost $2 billion/year, to about $6 billion/year by 2011, according to a recent study by the Freedonia Group (Cleveland). The global market for enzymes stood at $2.1 billion in 1996 and expanded to $4.1 billion in 2006. It is expected to grow 7.6%/year, to about $6 billion in 2011, Freedonia says.
