Lonza to Buy Stake in Indian Firm?

Lonza is in discussions with pharmaceutical company Aptuit Laurus (Hyderabad, India), to acquire a majority stake in the Indian company, say press reports. The deal maybe valued at about Rs.3.5 billion-Rs.4.5 billion ($77 million-$99 million), reports add. Aptuit Laurus mainly produces active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), intermediates, and nutraceuticals, and the company also provides various services including early-stage drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, drug product development and analytical services.
