EU Commission Proposes Tighter Controls on Precursors for Illegal Drugs

The European Commission has made two proposals to close loopholes in current European Union (EU) legislation on precursors for the illegal drugs methamphetamine and heroin. The precursors are legal chemicals contained in a wide variety of products, but which can be illegally diverted to produce narcotics, the commission says.
