Cambrex Records Rise in First-Quarter Profits

Cambrex (East Rutherford, NJ) has recorded a 12% increase in first-quarter net profits, to $4.7 million, compared with the year-ago period. Sales however decreased by nearly 3%, to $60 million. Sales were unfavorably impacted by exchange rates reflecting a stronger U.S. dollar, Cambrex says.
