Asahi Exits Fine Chemicals

Asahi Kasei says its Asahi Kasei Pharma subsidiary will exit the fine chemical business, and that it will liquidate Asahi Kasei N&P, the fine chemical subsidiary of Asahi Kasei Pharma. The company says it will also discontinue production in July at its Shiraoi plant, which focuses on the functional food additive coenzyme Q10. Product sales will be discontinued by year-end.
