Ampac Fine Chemicals swings to profit

Ampac Fine Chemicals (AFC; Rancho Cordova, CA), a subsidiary of American Pacific (Las Vegas), recorded an operating profit of $3.8 million in its fiscal second quarter, ended 31 March, compared with an operating loss of $1 million in the year-ago quarter. Second-quarter sales were $37.3 million compared with $20.6 million in the year-ago period. For the fiscal first half ended 31 March, AFC recorded an operating profit of $5 million compared to an operating loss of $2.2 million in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
