Venture Capital Investment in U.S. Biotech Hits 12-year Low

Venture capital investment in U.S. Biotech firms during the first quarter of the year fell 47%, compared with the year-ago period, to $3 billion, according to a report by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and the National Venture Capital Association (Boston, MA) based on data from Thomson Reuters. The investment in the sector in the U.S. is the lowest in 12 years, the authors say.
