Stepan launches surfactant developed jointly with Elevance

Stepan announced yesterday that it has introduced a novel biobased surfactant developed jointly with Elevance Renewable Sciences, Inc. (Woodridge, IL) that is capable of replacing high volatile organic content (VOC) solvents in a number of applications. Robert Slone, v.p./surfactant product development at Stepan tells CW that Steposol Met-10U enables formulators to replace very toxic, high VOC 100% solvent formulations based on materials like methyl pyrrolidone and methylene chloride with a 5% aqueous solution.
