Markets :: Fine Chemicals/Biotech :: Industrial Biotech Lonza Struggles in the Face of Lower Demand (update)7:19 AM MST | January 28, 2010 | Alex Scott Fine chemicals group Lonza says its Ebitda for full year 2009 fell 4.8% to SF 658 million ($626 million) on corresponding sales down 8.4% to SF2.7 billion. The company says it experienced lower demand across all of its businesses. Despite “volatility” in the market Lonza secured a stable Ebitda margin of 24.5%. Although 2009 was a tough year, “all businesses are profitable and remain strategically sound,” the company says.
