Chinese University Develops GM Cotton with Longer Fibers

Scientists from Fudan University (Shanghai, China) have genetically modified (GM) a strain of cotton featuring longer fibers suited to making high-end cotton products. The longer fibers lead to cotton materials with higher tensile strength. Details about the research were reported recently in Shanghai Daily, an online newspaper .
