Syngenta to Acquire Biotech Firm Pasteuria Bioscience

Syngenta announced today that it has agreed to acquire biotech company Pasteuria Bioscience (Alachua, FL). Syngenta and Pasteuria have had an exclusive global technology partnership since 2011 to develop and commercialize biological products to control plant-parasitic nematodes, using the naturally occurring soil bacteria Pasteuria spp. The companies say they will use an in vitro production process to develop cost-effective nematicides with a novel mode of action.
