Syngenta Eyes Paraquat Re-Registration

Syngenta says it is preparing to apply for a new European Union (EU) registration for the herbicide paraquat, which Syngenta markets under the brand name Gramoxone. The move follows a decision by the European Court of First Instance (Luxembourg) earlier this year to annul the previous EU registration of paraquat after a legal challenge by the Swedish government (CW, July 25, p. 35).
