Makhteshim and Agrium Seeking to Buy Nufarm?

Makhteshim Agan Industries (MAI; Tel Aviv) and Agrium (Calgary, AB) have made separate approaches to agchems producer Nufarm (Melbourne) with a view to merging with or acquiring Nufarm, according to Australian and Israeli press reports. MAI is seeking to buy an initial 40%-50% of Nufarm for about $1 billion, the reports say.
