It targets world’s most economically important rice disease; rice blast fungus. The active ingredient is marketed under the brand name Routine. Isotianil has been licensed by Bayer since 2009. Routine was brought into development as part of a joint venture with Japanese company Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd and is scheduled for market launch in Japan in 2011.
