Dow and DOE Grow Plants with 'Industrially Relevant' Levels of Plastics

Scientists from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Dow AgroSciences say they have engineered plants that for the first time produce “industrially-relevant” levels of compounds, known as omega-7 fatty acids, that could be used to make plastics.
