Compass Minerals sales, earnings rise on strong demand for salt and fertilizer

Compass Minerals today reported net earnings up 8% year-on-year (YOY), to $50.2 million, or $1.49/share, on sales up 10%, to $422 million. Earnings beat analysts’ consensus estimate of $1.42/share, as reported by Thomson Reuters (New York).
