BASF says it expects 2007 to be a better year for the company’s agchems business, following a drop in sales and Ebitda margins in 2006. Speaking at a press briefing in London last week, Peter Oakley, BASF board member/agchems and fine chemicals, said that the business will make a “nice recovery” this year. Agchem sales dropped 7% in 2006, to €3.1 billion ($4.1 billion), and Ebitda margins plummeted from about 27% in 2005, to 19%.
