BASF Further Invests in Agchems

BASF Crop Protection, a BASF subsidiary, says it will invest more than €150 million ($239 million) to increase capacity in response to expected strong demand for agchems. The capacity hikes will be at facilities in Brazil, France, Germany, and the U.S. for “top-selling active ingredients,” such as the pipeline compounds F 500 and boscalid, as well as the insecticide fipronil and herbicide metazachlor.
