American Vanguard Buys Two Lines

American Vanguard (AVD; Newport Beach, CA) subsidiary Amvac Chemical says it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Valent U.S.A.’s (Walnut Creek, CA) Orthene insecticide product line. The deal is expected to close by mid-January. Financial terms were not disclosed. Under the agreement, Amvac will acquire assets of the Orthene product line including all registrations, formulations, and existing inventories of the agricultural and professional lines.
