Agrium increases annual dividend by 50%, expects volume declines

Agrium announced today that it is raising its annual dividend by 50%, to $3/share. The dividend will be paid in quarterly installments of 75 cts/share, the company says. The next installment will be paid on 17 October to shareholders of record as of 30 September. However, Agrium also says that third-quarter volumes for nitrogen, phosphate, and potash will decline year-on-year (YOY). “Soft nutrient prices, combined with lower sales volumes, are expected to negatively affect third-quarter wholesale results across all three nutrients,” the company says...
