The output reduction began on December 20, 2008, Idemitsu says. Demand for PC is declining due to the global economic slowdown, it adds. The cutback is intended to improve the demand-supply balance for PC, Idemitsu says. The rate of the production cut and its duration will depend on future supply and demand for PC and on price movements for raw materials and energy, Idemitsu adds.
