FDA Response to BPA Petition Due by April 1

The U.S. FDA has through March 31 to respond to a petition seeking restrictions on the use of bisphenol A (BPA) in food packaging. The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC; Washington) petitioned FDA in 2008 seeking restrictions on BPA in packaging, containers and any material likely to come in contact with food. Legally, FDA had 180 days to respond and NRDC filed suit in 2010 to set a deadline for the response.
