Europe Bans Bisphenol A in Baby Bottles from Mid-2011

The European Union (EU) has banned polycarbonate that contains bisphenol A (BPA) in baby feeding bottles from June 1, 2011. The ruling has been made due to health concerns relating to the effects of BPA on children with particular concerns about damage to children’s immune system and development.   The proposed ban was agreed earlier this week by a committee of government experts from EU member states.
