Markets :: Engineering Plastics :: Nylon Ube to Increase Capacity for Caprolactam and Nylon in Thailand, Open Nylon-6 Facility12:47 PM MDT | September 30, 2010 | Deepti Ramesh Ube Industries says that its Ube Chemicals Asia (Bangkok) subsidiary will increase the production capacity for caprolactam and nylon at Rayong, Thailand, to meet the rising demand in Asia including China. Ube Chemicals Asia was established on February 1, 2010 following the merger of Ube’s Thai Caprolactam (Bangkok) and Ube Nylon Thailand (Bangkok) subsidiaries. Ube holds 93% stake in Ube Chemicals Asia and Marubeni (Tokyo) holds 6%. Ube Chemicals Asia will invest ¥3 billion ($36 million) to add 20,000 m.t./year of caprolactam production capacity, and...
