The plant will use the company’s proprietary butadiene-based technology to produce hexamethylene diamine (HMD) and adiponitrile (ADN), along with a variety of specialty chemicals and nylon-6,6 polymer. Invista announced the plant in 2007—with start-up slated for 2010—but plans were delayed due to the economic downturn.
