Markets :: Engineering Plastics :: Nylon Cyanco to Build Sodium Cyanide Plant at Alvin, TX1:16 PM MDT | May 3, 2011 | Lindsey Bewley Ascend Performance Materials and Cyanco Holding Corporation (Winnemucca, NV) say that Cyanco will build a new sodium cyanide manufacturing facility at Ascend’s Chocolate Bayou facility near Alvin, TX. The plant will be owned by Cyanco, but operated and maintained by Ascend. Construction is planned to begin this year and manufacturing is slated to begin in the second half of 2012. Cyanco already produces about 100 million lbs/year of hydrogen cyanide and about 120 million lbs/year of sodium cyanide at its sole facility at Winnemucca. “The Ascend site...
