Markets :: Engineering Plastics :: High-temperature polymers Solvay Advanced Polymers to Cut 50 Jobs10:30 AM MST | November 18, 2009 | Lindsey Bewley Solvay Advanced Polymers (SAP; Alpharetta, GA), a Solvay subsidiary, says it will cut about 50 jobs, or about 8% of its workforce, in an effort to restructure its U.S. operations. The economic downturn “has adversely affected plastics demand,” SAP says. About 23 jobs will be cut from the company’s Marietta, OH plant, representing about 10% of the site’s workforce, the company says.
