BASF Mulls Divesting Part of Styrenics Business

BASF has confirmed CW’s recent report that it is considering plans to divest parts of its commodity styrenics business (CW, July 18, p. 11). The company says it has received a preliminary offer for certain styrenics assets and that it is planning to start discussions with the interested party. Meanwhile, BASF says it will consider other “strategic options” for the styrenics operations including a joint venture.
