Vinyls Italia Could Restart Production Next Month

Troubled polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and vinyl chloride monomer producer Vinyls Italia (Porto Marghera, Italy) could “realistically” restart plants in northeastern Italy and Sardinia around November 10, a source has told CW. The plants were shut down in early summer and have remained idle ever since due to the company’s inability to obtain raw materials, but the source says that Vinyls Italia recently obtained some supplies of ethylene dichloride (EDC).
