Fire Shuts Down Georgia Gulf Louisiana Plant

Georgia Gulf says it has shut down its 900-million lbs/year vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) facility at Lake Charles, LA, following a fire at the site on November 10. There were no injuries, but it will be several weeks before an accurate damage estimate can be made, Georgia Gulf says.
