(Sipchem; Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia) has started initial operation at its carbon monoxide (CO) plant at Al Jubail. The unit, designed to produce 345,000 m.t./year of CO, is the world's largest such facility. It forms part of Sipchem's acetyl's complex, the second phase of the company's development program. Sipchem has also begun the process of commissioning its 430,000 m.t./year acetic acid plant and 330,000 m.t./year vinyl acetate monomer unit.
