LyondellBasell declares force majeure on VAM at La Porte plant

LyondellBasell Industries has declared force majeure on vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) production at the company's plant at La Porte, TX, company sources have confirmed. The 400,000-m.t./year unit is the second VAM unit to have declared force majeure in the United States. DuPont's 350,000-m.t./year plant, also at La Porte, did so earlier this week.
