Markets :: Basic Chemicals :: Petrochemicals :: Vinyl acetate Chinese Firm to License DuPont's VAM Technology11:44 PM MDT | October 28, 2009 | Lindsey Bewley DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers says its vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) technology has been selected by Jiangsu Sopo Group (Sopo; Shanghai) for a 330,000-m.t./year plant at Zhenjiang, China. The planned VAM facility will be integrated with other Sopo petrochemical plants at Zhenjiang. The site includes a methanol plant and a 1.2-million m.t./year acetic acid plant that will supply feedstock to the VAM unit. Other chemicals produced at Zhenjiang include chlor-alkali products and rubber accelerants, the company says. The VAM plant is expected to be completed...
