Celanese to close acetic anhydride and VAM plants in France and Spain

Celanese said today that its French and Spanish subsidiaries have informed their employee delegates at Roussillon, France, and the work council at Tarragona, Spain, about their intent to initiate an information and consultation process on the closure of the Roussillon acetic anhydride manufacturing facility and the vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) production unit at Tarragona.   Celanese announced on 22 May that it would be interested in a buyer for both facilities.
