Mitsubishi Establishes PTA Company in Singapore

Mitsubishi Chemical says it has established a new company in Singapore for its purified terephthalic acid (PTA) business. Mitsubishi, as previously announced, will shift part of the headquarters of its PTA business from Japan to Singapore The new company, dubbed MCC PTA Asia Pacific Private Company Ltd., will begin operations in June 2009. Mitsubishi announced in February 2009 that it plans to stop production of PTA and para-xylene in Japan.
