Mitsubishi Chemical to Quit Caprolactam and Styrene Monomer Businesses

Mitsubishi Chemical says it will exit the caprolactam and styrene monomer businesses within the next two years as it restructures its petrochemicals businesses. “The petrochemicals business environment is expected to be increasingly severe, since an intensifying competition against products with inexpensive raw materials manufactured in the Mideast is anticipated in Japan and overseas, and domestic demands in petrochemicals products are decreasing,” the company says.
