Markets :: Basic Chemicals :: Petrochemicals :: Styrene Jubail Chevron Phillips Begins Production12:52 AM MDT | August 20, 2008 | Natasha Alperowicz Saudi Industrial Investment Group (SIIG; Riyadh) and ChevronPhillips Chemical (CPChem) say their Jubail Chevron Phillips Co. joint venture has started production at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The SR4.5 billion ($1.2 billion) complex, designed to produce 750,000 m.t./year of styrene and 150,000 m.t./year of propylene, will begin exporting next month. The period prior to the first shipment will be used to buildup inventory, the companies say.
