FTC Clears Ineos Nova’s Purchase of Sterling’s Styrene Business

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC; Washington) has cleared Ineos Nova’s $60-million acquisition of exclusive rights to styrene production at Sterling Chemicals’ 1.7-billion lbs/year Texas City, TX facility. Sterling is subject to a long-term commitment under its agreement with Ineos Nova that blocks it from re-entering the styrene business. Crump: Evaluating biodiesel production.
