Dow to Idle Several Plants, Hikes Prices by an Additional 25%

Dow Chemical will temporarily idle or reduce production at a number of manufacturing plants in North America and Europe, and will raise selling prices by as much as an additional 25% to restore margins. Dow says it will idle one of two styrene units at Terneuzen, The Netherlands, which is about 40% of its European styrene production capacity.
