Capacity of the plant has been raised from 155,000 m.t./year to 255,000 m.t./year, reinforcing Shell as one of the major polyols suppliers. The new flexible polyols capacity at Pernis will help meet increased global demand for polyols in slabstock foam, coatings, adhesives, sealants and eleastomers, and molding applications, which are growing globally at 4%-5%/year, the company says.
