Huntsman and Sinopec form jv to build PO-MTBE facility in China

Huntsman Corp. says it has entered into a joint venture agreement with Sinopec Jinling (Nanjing, China), a subsidiary of Sinopec, to build a propylene oxide-methyl tert-butyl ether (PO-MTBE) facility at Nanjing, China. The jv,  Nanjing Jinling Huntsman New Materials,  will build and operate a world-scale PO-MTBE facility that will produce 550 million lbs/year of PO and 1.6 billion lbs/year of MTBE at a capital cost of about $750 million. The facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2014 and will utilize Huntsman's proprietary PO-MTBE...
