Evonik Industries and Sibur (Moscow) say they have agreed to study a joint venture project that would build plants producing propylene oxide (PO) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) for use in the Russian market. The study is scheduled for completion in the next few months and will determine possible locations and size. The PO plant would use novel hydrogen peroxide-to-propylene oxide (HPPO) technology developed by Evonik and Uhde.
