Reports: Technical difficulties delay restart of Shell's Moerdijk cracker

Shell Chemicals' steam cracker at Moerdijk, Netherlands, is experiencing technical difficulties that have delayed the plant's restart following planned maintenance, unconfirmed reports say. The maintenance had been planned for March and April, and had been slated to last seven weeks, according to IHS Chemical data. A delayed restart would cause feedstock supply difficulties impacting internal supplies to Shell's downstream petrochemical production at its Moerdijk complex.
