Petronas Plans Refinery and Petrochemical Complex

Najib: Creating a regional industry hub. Petronas is planning a $20-billion investment to build a refinery and petrochemicals complex at Pengerang in the state of Johor in southern Malaysia. Najib Razak, the prime minister of Malaysia, announced the investment earlier this month. The Refinery and Petrochemicals Integrated Development (Rapid) project is at the detailed feasibility stage and production would begin at the end of 2016, Najib says.
